Newsletter 2013
Dear Parents:
The month of December is here and soon enough it will be Christmas time. The students’ excitement will escalate as the many fun-filled events unfold at P.J.Gillen School.
The Christmas concert date is set for Tuesday, December 17th, with an afternoon performance at 1:30 p.m. and an evening show at 6:30 p.m.. Make sure your child comes to the classroom at least 15 minutes before the evening show. The students may dress how they like for their performances on the stage.
The Christmas luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, December 19th starting at 11:00 a.m. in the school gymnasium. Students and staff are treated to a free turkey dinner with all the trimmings followed by some live entertainment. This is such a wonderful experience for all the students to be a part of at P.J. Gillen School.
Christmas
Gift Exchange
Also, our classroom Christmas party is scheduled for Thursday, December 19th. At this time we will be playing games, enjoying snacks and opening gifts. The students love participating in the classroom gift exchange. For the gift exchange, please purchase a gift anywhere from $8.00 to $10.00 dollars for the friend your child has picked below. Wrap the gift and make sure to mark who it is for and who it is from. Ensure that the gift be brought to school no later than Friday, December 13th.

lives. Please take note of this day and
send money with your child if you wish for them to partake.
Scholastic
Book Orders are due Friday, December 6th this deadline for the month of December is
earlier due to receiving the orders back before Christmas Break. Please send me a note if you wish to use these books as a gift for Christmas.
As the weather is getting colder, please make sure your child is dressed for outside play at recess times. Extra mitts and neck warmers or scarves are a good idea. The children are really enjoying crazy carpeting down the playground hills.
Thank you so much for coming out to parent-teacher interviews as I enjoyed meeting and talking with you again. If you have any questions or concerns that come up please don’t hesitate to call or drop by.
The next K-Day after the Christmas break will be on Monday, January 6th.
Take care and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
