Kindergarten Newsletter
April 2014
Dear
Parents:
Our
classroom themes for April are Easter and Spring.
This month
we will be finishing up the reading of author Eric Hill’s “Spot” books. We will
be working on the letters of Vv, Yy, and
Zz. We will be practising counting orally to 80, skip counting by 10’s, 5’s,
and 2’s, counting backwards from different starting points (1-15) and printing
formations of all numbers 1 -10. Also,
we will partake in Earth Day activities and explore the season of Spring.
Easter is
on its way and it is always an exciting time for all young children. As a
special art project to help celebrate the Easter tradition, I would like to
color Easter eggs with the Kindergarten children. So please send four to six
hard boiled eggs to school on Thursday, April 17th (Day 5). That
would be greatly appreciated! The eggs will be kept in the cooler all day,
after being colored, and returned into their book bags that same school night.
Just a reminder to help your child empty his/her book bag this night. Enjoy
their egg creations at home!!!
Points to
Note:
1.
Please
make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the Spring season. The school
playground is snowy, wet and muddy in places. Rubber boots or winter boots,
extra socks, mitts and pants, and wind pants or ski pants are just a few
suggestions.
2.
Our
classroom igloo is complete and it turned out great. Thank you for helping us out!
It was
nice seeing you all again at parent-teacher interviews. Have a great month and
let’s hope Spring brings warm weather soon!
Sincerely,
Mrs.
